About Me

Hello I am

Charlotte Nash

I am passionate about helping people improve their mental health. My personal experience of depression and anxiety in the past and my successful journey, using talking therapies, as well as having 15 years of professional experience as a psychological therapist, have given me personal and professional knowledge, insight and understanding of how therapy can benefit us.

It is essential that you have a safe and trusted space to voice and share your narrative. Working with me, I will support you through the therapeutic process, to learn ways to help yourself now and in the future.

My professional background and training were originally in social work. I am currently accredited with Social Work England and gained my MA/Diploma in Social Work from Reading University in 2000 where I developed an interest in therapeutic approaches in social work and wrote a masters dissertation on bereavement counselling.

My Qualifications

As a qualified social worker, I have several years of experience working in the London Boroughs of Hackney and Westminster, with families and children at an Action for Children Family Centre, where I also facilitated an art therapy course for parents and used play therapy techniques with children.

In 2003 I moved to Bristol and worked for Women’s Aid on the National Domestic Violence Helpline and following this, for an organisation offering residential assessments and support for families facing child proceedings.

In 2005, I gained an AQA in Counselling Skills at the City of Bristol College.

In 2010 I completed my Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) training at the University of Exeter and was awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT): High-Intensity Psychological Studies.

I am an Accredited Registered Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). The BABCP is the regulatory organisation for CBT therapists in the UK and Ireland. Full BABCP accreditation demonstrates that the therapist meets the BABCP Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

I have spent 15 years working in various Talking Therapies services in Bristol including Right Steps, Oasis-Talk and currently Bristol North Somerset South Gloucestershire NHS Talking Therapies Service (formerly Vita Minds).

I began my private therapy practice in 2020 which has enabled me to work not only with Bristol-based clients but also clients across the whole of the UK.
